Training: Building Resilience for staff

Training to help school staff build their own resilience.

Supporting children through difficulty is meaningful work, but it can be draining. This training helps staff build their own resilience so they can keep offering steady, compassionate support without becoming overwhelmed. Resilient teams are better for staff wellbeing and for the children in their care.

Who it is for

School and setting staff at every level, including teachers, support staff, pastoral teams and leaders who want to look after themselves and one another.

What you will learn

  • What resilience is, and why supporting distressed children can take a toll.
  • How to recognise signs of stress and vicarious trauma in yourself and colleagues.
  • Practical strategies for self-care, boundaries and emotional regulation.
  • Ways to build a supportive, sustainable team culture where asking for help is normal.

Format

The session is interactive and reflective, with discussion and practical tools staff can use straight away. It can be delivered in person at your setting or online, and tailored to your team's size and needs, whether that is a short input or a fuller session.
