The safety and welfare of children and young people is our highest priority. Everyone at Origami Wings CIC shares responsibility for safeguarding.
Our commitment
We are committed to protecting children from harm, abuse and neglect. Our practice is guided by Working Together to Safeguard Children, the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and, where we work in schools, Keeping Children Safe in Education.
How we keep children safe
- We have a named Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who oversees safeguarding and to whom all concerns are reported.
- All staff and volunteers are safely recruited, including appropriate checks, and receive safeguarding training.
- Concerns are recorded, taken seriously and acted upon promptly, sharing information with relevant agencies where needed to protect a child.
- We promote a culture in which children are listened to and feel able to speak up.
Raising a concern
If you are worried that a child is at risk, please tell us so we can act. In an emergency, or if a child is in immediate danger, always call 999. You can also contact your local authority children's services.
